Summmer Camps for Kids

LNC Summer Camps are a great way for kids to learn about nature while having fun! Camps at Louisville Nature Center offer fun games, guided hikes in the nature preserve, and exciting nature study for budding naturalists--ages 4-12! Our camps provide lots of hands-on learning about the local wildlife and habitats found in Beargrass Creek State Nature Preserve--a 41-acre forest and outdoor classroom.

Summer Camp Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships are available for the LNC summer camps. Attendees pay 50% of the camp cost; the remaining 50% will be covered by the scholarship funds. Any student currently receiving reduced lunch is eligible to apply. Please contact the Nature Center for details.

Olmsted Parks Conservancy and Louisville Nature Center hosts:
two FREE camps AT CHICKASAW PARK.
Dates for these camps are: June 22-26 for ages 6 through 9;
and July 20-24 for ages 10 through 12.
Are bugs your best friend? Do you find dirt delightful and trees terrific? Does taking pictures of Nature interest you? How about some art? And, if you like a little investigating, you are a perfect candidate for this FREE camp!!
Campers will enjoy fun outdoor activities and learn about parks, trees, leaves, birds, wildlife habitats, and other creatures in nature.

Campers will be selected based on their love of nature and one or two written recommendations.

The only requirement is that parents help their kids write a brief statement on why they want to attend a nature camp, plus provide one written recommendation from an adult, other than parent or grandparent, explaining why this child is a good candidate for the camp.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION for these two camps has been extended to July 13.
Hurry! Participation is limited to 20, and on a first-come, first-served basis.
Interested campers please fill out an application and send it along to the address on the application. Call Louisville Nature Center at 458-1328 for more information and application or contact Judy Gardner jgardner@LouisvilleNatureCenter.org
