Work days are scheduled ahead, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am-1pm during warm months and 1-3pm during cold months. He believed that young children should spend their time playing in nature, with less emphasis on learning letters and numbers. Today, across Europe, thousands of these outdoor "forest kindergartens" have been established. Children spend their entire class time exploring and learning outdoors year-round. When children spend unstructured time exploring the outdoors, they show increased creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills. They learn appropriate risk taking and develop resiliency, while connecting to nature. Complete the application and review the parent handbook. We accept applications year round! There is a $25 application fee. Upon enrollment, the fee will go towards the $175 enrollment fee. After your tour, if both parties decide that Swallowtail Forest School is a good fit, you will be contacted when a space becomes available.
