The LNC building will be closed from December 22 through January 4. Workers will be in and out of the building for repair work, so please do not enter the building during this period so that the repair work is not disturbed. However, our trails and grounds will remain open for you to enjoy all the amazing sights and animals that can only be seen during the winter months.
A truly unique community resource, the Louisville Nature Center
offers wonderful opportunities for nature study and recreation--right in the heart of the city!
Bring a lunch and relax at our picnic tables or under the covered gazebo.
Among our unique features are: a native wildflower garden and pond, butterfly gardens, hiking trails through the Beargrass Creek State Nature Preserve,
a one-of-a-kind bird blind, wildlife exhibits, Beargrass Creek watershed exhibit, a meeting room, a nature gift shop and our library--a great place to do research and spend some time indoors when the weather is too hot, too cold or rainy to study nature outside.

RAIN BARRELS ARE AVAILABLE AT LOUISVILLE NATURE CENTER
Rain barrels collect, store, and divert rooftop runoff during a rain event. They are good for the environment and help save money on your water bill. The Louisville Nature Center has rain barrels available for $74 each (tax already included), or $69 each for two or more. The barrels come already assembled with a spigot, downspout adapter, and overflow spout. The assembly work is done for you by LNC volunteers and staff. Best of all, you can pick up your barrel right here at LNC. Call us at 458-1328 for more information. (download flyer)
One hundred percent of the rain barrel proceeds go toward helping LNC continue its mission.
The Nature Center's meeting room can be rented as a unique meeting place for groups who want a peaceful, natural setting! Perfect for reunions, retreats, or company gatherings. (Click on the "Group Events" button for more information.)
